TAPCO 98C Folding stock: A review

Postby Gamble » Mon Jul 07, 2008 10:14 am

Details:
Folding stock for 98 Custom. Black. Cost about 50 dollars at the SpecOps Paintball store.

My Point of view:
This stock isn't bad for woodsball players in my opinion. It fits me well, and the fact that I can fold it is great. When I play speedball (which is seldom) I can just fold it up and go. Folding it can be a problem for lefties because the stock covers the front grip on the right side. If you are a woodsballer looking for a decent stock for a fair price this is the one.

Pro's:

-Looks good. Milsim or not it looks good, unless you have your gun setup to look like a certain gun all except the stock, but even then it wouldn't look too bad.

Weight- Not really light but certainly not heavy, just fine for an all day scenario.

Durability: Extremely durable, its pretty much one big piece instead of those stocks that just have framework, which is great.

Con's:

Fold- Folds to the right covering the front grip on the right side which is bad for left handers.

Air Through- No, sadly its not air through, but then again it is a folding stock...

Sighting- No mask cutout makes it almost impossible to look down the sights with your mask on

Tension- The stock isn't all that easy to fold, it would be a hassle to do it in a game.

Reccomendation: If you need a woodsball stock at a decent price this should do the trick, make sure you are ready to deal with the con's though. If you are playing more speedball than woodsball I'm not entierly certain why you would want a stock.
