Dye Matrix LCD

Postby BoKnows » Wed Feb 11, 2009 8:55 pm

I have a used Dye Matrix LCD. I believe it is a few years old at least. It is missing the bottom assembly. (Pardon my noob-i-ness to paintball, I don't have the vocabulary yet). What I need is the coil? and the threaded piece that screws onto the bottom of the grip. (Where the tank screws in).

If anyone can direct me to a good mail order parts site and learn me some paintball lingo, I'd be much obliged. Thanks!

1. The coil is the line. We have braided and macro line.

Braided: Used on higher pressure markers. Can't cut and almost need exact size.

Macro lines and macro line fittings: Note the fittings are staight or 90 degrees. Swivel 90 degree are better than none swivel since it will self-align with the line. Teflon tape or medium strength thread sealer is required.

2. The lower part that the tank screws into is called an ASA (air source adapter.) These come in different styles. The on/off/venting style is more money but the better option. Some may also call these "bottom lines."

You can try Ansgear.com or ActionVillage.com for kit. What you are asking for is common and available everywhere.

Thanks slinkyaroo!

Yep, That's what I need. I have one 90degree on the fore grip, but I'll try to get the whole setup to avoid in further complications and to ensure proper fitting. This seems like a nice gun, I'm anxious to use it.

Got it working. Put on a new bottom line, both 90s and macro line. It seems to work great. I went out and fired about 50 rounds with it. Now I just need to find some willing participants for play.

Thanks again for your help and advice.

Alright, next question, same marker.

The foregrip is ridiculously cold when the air is attached. Like freeze burn my hand cold. Any known cause or remedy?

You aren't using co2 are you? ;)

I can't think of any reason why HPA would make a regulator cold. (The foregrip you are referring to is a regulator.)

There is the manual for a LCD if you don't have it already as well... But considering you are here, I take it you probably do.

I have the manual, but I don't see any mention of this issue. Unless I am not using the regulator properly? I do feel that I've followed the instructions given (page 12 of manual). But yeah, it's friggin' cold. Co2, hmmm, don't think so. I'm using the air provided to me by a local paintball shop. Again, I'm a newbie at this so I wouldn't know the difference either way.

Well... No idea, the only thing I can think of is that you are using co2..

Do you know the diff. between Co2 and HPA? (I don't know how new you are, or what you know..)

I have no idea of the difference between Co2 and HPA. Do the mechanical guns require one and electric the other? I also have a Tippman 98, spyder tlx and a pmi piranha. Can I do damage by using the wrong air power? Take me to school.

Well, I've decided that this isn't the marker for me. I am still going to keep my other "mechanical" markers, but the electric high speed marker isn't my cup of tea. I have put it in an auction on eBay if any of you want to check it out.

In general, High End markers (for the most part) require HPA. Co2 is actually bad for most markers with an exception of a select few.

All in all, does your tank have a pressure gauge on it or not? Its pretty rare to find one on a Co2 tank, so that will probably tell me if it is an air tank or Co2 tank and what it is being filled with.

Or easier, can you get a pic of it and post up?
